Flutist and composer Mattan Klein blends Israeli and Brazilian influences into a contemporary jazz sound marked by melodic clarity and rhythmic warmth. Known for his crisp tone and virtuoso improvisation, Klein has been praised for pushing jazz flute to new heights.
Based in Israel, he is a frequent collaborator with leading artists such as Miki Gavrielov and Alon Olearchik, and has performed on major stages including Carnegie Hall and the Kennedy Center. His recordings—such as Sound Tracks, Wag the Mammoth in the China Store, and The Long Run—have received critical acclaim, and his recent work with drummer Uria Mader in the funk-jazz ensemble Spice’n’Space has expanded his reach across Europe.
In addition to performing and composing, Klein is active as a music educator and producer, directing regional music programs and leading workshops throughout Israel.
