Songs of Bacharach and Manzanero
Gabriel Espinosa is a Mexican-born guitarist, bassist, composer, and educator with deep roots in jazz and Latin American music. He began playing guitar at age six and performed early on with his family’s group “Los Deltons.” He holds degrees in music from Central College, Berklee College of Music, and a Master’s in Jazz Studies from the University of North Texas.
Gabriel formed the group “Ashanti,” which has released several albums blending jazz, Latin, and world music, featuring guest artists such as Alex Acuña, Anat Cohen, and Gil Goldstein. He has produced albums for notable Mexican artists, including Armando Manzanero.
As an educator, Gabriel has directed jazz studies programs and Latin American ensembles, fostering vocal and instrumental jazz training. His work includes collaborations with musicians such as Antonio Sanchez, Claudio Roditi, Alison Wedding, and Tierney Sutton. Gabriel’s recordings have received critical acclaim and international recognition in the jazz community.
