Tanita
Nuriya
Nuriya is a vocalist and composer whose music blends Latin American, Middle Eastern, and flamenco traditions. Born in Mexico City to a multicultural family, she grew up immersed in the music of her Iraqi-Jewish heritage alongside the rhythms of Latin America and the melismatic phrasing of artists like Oum Kalthoum and Agustín Lara.
Trained in opera and jazz, she later deepened her study of folkloric Afro-Cuban music, flamenco, and traditional Hebrew and Arabic melodies. Her collaborations include work with Andy Summers of The Police and Yair Dalal, with whom she has performed internationally. Her performances have spanned major venues and festivals across Europe, the U.S., and the Middle East.
